To commemorate the commencement of the World War I, a prayer corner display was set up in Church (see picture).

On Monday 4th August, Rev George Mwaura, along with other local Church leaders, took part in a service of remembrance in Christ Church, Walmsley, with His Worship the Lord Mayor of Bolton, in attendance.

The service was so well supported that the Church was full with standing room only in the gallery. ¬†Eagley Brass Band led the singing of well known hymns including ‘Eternal Father Strong to Save’ and ‘Jerusalem’ and school children brought lit candles to the altar.

It was so good to see the whole community of Egerton coming together to remember the local men who never came home.
