The book club will meet on Thursday 19 October at 7:00pm to discuss “The unlikely Pilgrimage of Harold Fry” by Rachel Joyce:
Harold Fry, recently retired lives in a small English village with his wife, Maureen, who seems irritated by almost everything he does. One morning he receives a letter in a shaky scrawl from a woman he hasn’t seen or heard from in twenty years. Queenie Hennessy is in hospice and is writing to say goodbye. Harold pens a quick reply and has a chance encounter that convinces him that he absolutely must deliver his message in person.
In a change of venue, we will meet at the Old Manse, 290 Blackburn Road – right next to the church.
